Covenant Worship - Our Vision and God’s Promises
by Doug K.

As we worship, God will
restore intimacy between Himself and His children. Many in India find it difficult to express emotions outwardly, but as God begins gently breaking down our walls, we experience a new freedom and a new closeness with God that propels us forward in our spiritual life.

As we worship, God will
renew passion and purpose in our hearts and our lives. Without His spirit flowing through us constantly, it is difficult to maintain a level of fervour and excitement. Worshipping God allows us to be recharged and re-energized as we run the race to which we’ve been called.

As we worship, God will
revitalize His Church and revive ‘nominal’ Christians. When we worship and as we surrender, we receive greater power and anointing from God. While growing in our understanding and experience of worship, so too will the Church grow in its power and anointing. In India as in every other country there are those who may believe in Christ and claim the title of ‘Christian’, but are not following Him and striving to walk as Jesus did. Nothing brings about a desire to surrender fully to God like a few moments in His presence.

As we worship, God will
reach the lost and recruit disciples. God’s heart is jealous for the people of India. The people here are among the most spiritual in the world. They crave worship, so much so that they will worship almost anything. God’s heart is yearning for their worship and burning for their love. Just as in Scripture, as people observed the Presence of God move among His people they experienced conviction, they experienced the love of God and they felt God’s desire for them to come into relationship with Him.

As we worship, God will allow us to
rest in His presence and remain in Him. For all eternity we will be extolling the greatness and the holiness of God, immersed in His Presence and entwined with His Being. Through worship we are given the opportunity to taste of this eternal ecstasy early, and are always transformed by our encounters with Him. The more we taste of Him, the more we desire to remain in Him and the closer we become.

As we worship, God will enable us to
receive the gifts and fruits of the Spirit. His spiritual gifts empower us as we do the works of Christ. As we surrender ourselves in worship, He increases His power at work in our lives. The fruits of His Spirit, including Faith, Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace, are essential for us in our daily spiritual lives. We grow in Faith as we spend time with Him and continue to learn the nature of God. We grow in Hope as we come to know His plans and His calling for our lives. We grow in Love as He reveals His heart for us and imparts His love to us. As His children we are filled with an inexpressible and overwhelming Joy, which allows us to delight in Him; while His peace allows us to face any storm in our lives and remain unshaken.

As we worship, God will
reveal His Glory in our midst. As we glorify God, He in turn reveals His glory among us. During our worship, Heaven opens its gates and our eyes our opened to splendid reality of God. Where His people gather to worship and seek His face, there He reveals Himself. As His presence increases, so does the weight of His Glory.
